We asked Kevin to share some information about his fly tying and in particular his favourite Semperfli materials – we hope you enjoy his thoughts….
“I live in Cavan Ireland and I’m a member of the Game Angling Instructors’ Association (G.A.I.A) and currently hold the the Qualification G.A.I.C In Fly Dressing. My Main Focus is Irish Brown Trout Patterns and over the years I have become very interested in the history of Irish Patterns. Living in Cavan my home lough is the world renowned Lough Sheelin which is famous for big browns and an incredible Mayfly hatch.
I come under the name of KsG flies and in recent years I have been using Semperfli materials like Nano Silk, Dubbing, Micro Glint, Wire, Tinsel, Straggle String which have proven to be successful material for Irish Brown Trout and look forward to introducing more Semperfli Materials to Irish patterns.
Its a great honor to be working with Semperfli and I’m absolutely delighted.
As a member of the Game Angling instructors’ Association we hold Continued Personal & Continued Development days (CPPD) this develops my teaching skills so i can teach at a high level
